Cell Phones and Privacy

Prepaid cellphones could be used in many different ways. I know in my family my brother got a prepaid phone for his first phone just so he could make phone calls and become mature enough to get a real cellphone. They are good for young teens to have them for emergencies. Prepaid phones are good for people that cannot afford phone bills. Now a day to just buy a cellphone through companies is hundreds of dollars and that is not even to pay for the monthly bill.  The law should be able to control prepaid phones but not ban them because a majority of the people uses them for good reasons. We should keep the prepaid phones but they should be able to be registered for safety issues.

  1. I completely agree with you. I think that prepaid phones do not have to be harmful, but rather beneficial in many ways. I think it is a great way for people who cannot otherwise afford a phone. I also agree with you that they should be registered for safety issues just in case criminals are using it, the government can easily find them.

  2. I think you raise a good point on a benefit of prepaid cell phones I had not considered, the ability to use them as a starter phone for children or just for emergency use for a child. All your other points I agree with, there is no need to ban prepaid cell phones, but having to initially register one should not be the end of the world either.

  3. I also agree that prepaid cell phones offer a good alternative to expensive traditional plans, especially for young teens and during emergencies. Registering the phones with the Government would not be a big deal and most users would barely notice.
